The Story of Mary of Bethany depicts how Jesus interacts with his friends in the midst of grief. Jesus was close friends with Mary and her siblings, Martha and Lazarus, and Mary is heartbroken when she and her sister plead with Jesus to come heal their brother in his illness, yet Jesus arrives after Lazarus has already died. How does Jesus reach out to the brokenhearted?
