Dominican School of
Evangelization
The Dominican School of Evangelization seeks to help parishioners come to know Christ and ourselves more deeply so that we can live well and preach more effectively. This course is not an apologetics course, nor is it designed, per se, as a training for street evangelization. Rather, it is about living in a more fruitful and intentional Christian way. The course includes fellowship, study, and prayer, all meant to help us be better prepared to preach the Gospel. In a very real sense, it is meant to mirror the Dominican form of life so that the laity can benefit from this great spiritual tradition. Overall, this course is designed to shape how we live, what we do, and what we say so that we can become more apt instruments for the evangelization of the world and the salvation of souls.
Monday Nights
6:45 PM - 8:45 PM
This first time through the course is limited to parishioners of Dominican parishes, students in the NYU/CUNY system connected with the Dominican chaplaincy at the Catholic Center, and 3rd Order Dominicans.
The Dominican School of Evangelization will meet on Monday evenings in the Lower Church at St. Vincent’s from October 12 until May 17 (with a break for a few weeks around Christmas). It will also include three afternoons of reflection on November 15, February 7, and April 11. While we do not require those who want to join the course to commit to the whole program, it will be far more fruitful to participate in the whole course rather than just part of it.
