Anointing of the Sick
Jesus summoned the Twelve and began to send them out two by two. . . So they went off and preached repentance. They drove out many demons, and they anointed with oil many who were sick and cured them.
Mark 6: 7, 13
The sacrament of Anointing of the Sick allows the sick to feel peace, courage, and comfort from the Lord to face the difficulties of illness, old age, and the fear of death. It may be received when someone is weakened by age, suffers from a serious illness, faces a significant medical procedure or surgery, or endures another grave condition affecting their health.
If you or a loved one would like to receive this sacrament, whether at the church or at home (for those who are homebound), please contact the Parish Office. You may also approach any of our priests after Sunday Mass. To arrange an appointment, please contact the Parish Office at parish@svsc.info
or call (212) 744-2080.
