For the Feast of St. Cecilia, Virgin and Martyr, and the patron saint of music and musicians, we will have a Mass in the Dominican Rite at 9:30 AM at St. Vincent Ferrer, for which the Schola Cantorum will sing Messe in G Major by Francis Poulenc. This masterwork, befitting the Feastday, is one of the most glorious (and difficult) settings of the Mass Ordinary written in the 20th century and is rarely sung in its liturgical context. A reception will follow the Mass.
